Title: | Factors Affecting Properties of Poly-(ester) Matrix Composite (PMC) | Authors: | Zakaria Bin Dris Azril Dahari Bin Johari M.N.M.Ansari |
Issue Date: | 2015 | Conference: | The 3rd National Graduate Conference (NatGrad2015), Universiti Tenaga Nasional, Putrajaya Campus, 8-9 April 2015 | Abstract: | Poly-(ester) matrix composite is the material consisting of poly-(ester) resin as a matrix combined with the fiber reinforcement material. The aim of this study is to review the different type of fibers reinforcement and test method to measure the mechanical properties of poly-(ester) matrix composite with different type of fiber reinforcement. Different types of fiber reinforcement have been added to improve the mechanical properties of poly-(ester) matrix composite. This paper also reviews the effect on mechanical properties of varying filler amount, varying amounts of carbon nanotube addition, varying duration immersed in water and varying architectures for hybrid composite. By reviewing the factors affecting properties of composite with different type of fibre, a new combination high performance poly-(ester) matrix composite for various applications can be developed. | URI: | http://cogs.uniten.edu.my/portal/NatGrad2015/Proceedings/ME/PaperID_46.pdf http://dspace.uniten.edu.my/jspui/handle/123456789/10209 |
