dc.description.abstract | As technological development increase nowadays, consideration towards Tribotronics or active Tribology implementation is crucial for industrial monitoring system. The implementation of sensing element for Pin-On-Disc (POD) Tribometer has improved significantly, especially in terms of real-time data collection. The Tribotronics system (Figure 1) existed in Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) provides with two sensing elements, which is S-type load cell for force monitoring system and speed encoder for rotating disc speed measurement. This paper presents the newly added sensor, thermocouple, it is as part of the Tribotronic system on POD Tribometer focusing on the development of the Tribotronics temperature. The thermocouple is capable in measuring temperature in the POD Tribometer which is directly connected to the data logger (picolog). Finally, the data collection is interpreted and analyzed by using Matlab software. | en_US |
