Abstract

It is gratifying that this popular text book has been patronized by both teachers and students in India and abroad for more than four decades ever since it was first published in 1966. The present edition has been substantially revised, rearranged and presented in a new format with new diagrams. The text contains some significant alterations and additions in a number of chapters.
