Fiber-Wireless (FiWi) is one the most promising solutions for the perpetually increasing number of Internet subscribers. FiWi is considered to be in the phase of enhancement and a suitable lab-scale testbed is essential for engineers to do the necessary analysis for improvement purposes. In this paper, we developed a FiWi testbed using National Instrument's Universal Software Radio Peripheral that is scalable, simpler and easy to use communication platform. The proposed testbed uses full programming platform to simulate the communication system using passive optical network architecture. The simulation shows that the testbed is able to work on upstream and downstream using any architecture such as point to point or point to multipoint and with simple programming, we can incorporate any algorithm for improvements purposes. Hence, it will be a good fiber-wireless platform for future improvement or analysis purposes. © 2016 IEEE.-
