dc.description.abstractThis study models two cable joints with S-parameters using MATLAB/Simulink to replicate actual time domain reflectometry (TDR) cable system with two joints. The modelled TDR cable system is simulated for defect assessment along the cable. A series of simulations with various cable configurations are conducted and then validated with the experimental results. This paper compares the simulations results with experimental results to verify the accuracy of the modelled cable system. Analysis of the simulation results show consistency with the experimental results which proves the cable model is valid and can be used for assessing defects along cable with two joints. © 2018, Institute of Advanced Scientific Research, Inc.
