| Abstract: | Knowledge management (KM) and Information Technology (IT) infrastructure are now recognized as core business consideration to promote intellectual asset. Both play vital roles in gaining competitive advantage in the construction industry. If properly managed, KM and IT can be turned into strategic assets of any knowledge-intensive organization. From review of literature, various factors that influence KM and IT infrastructure to support project performance in the construction industry were identified. A conceptual research model based on the complementary functions of IT and KM to support project performance was proposed. However, other factors such as social and political, economic and technology management as well as actors support were found to be equally important to ensure successful completion of construction projects. |
