dc.description.abstract | Fly ashes can be classified as hazardous Coal Combustion by-Product (CCP), which can contributes to the environmental pollution. According to (ACAA 2009), USA itself has produced approximately 125.5 million tons per annual of CCP which almost 56 million tons of these waste by-products has been successfully employed in applications, but others still remain untreated. Disposal of these materials in landfills can deduce ecological pollution as inclusion chemistry, and from dispose and let these waste materials unattended. Finding the solutions and methods of recycling these waste materials are needed, as it can be used as one of the materials in construction projects, engineering purpose, stabilizing process etc. Therefore, Pulverised fuel ash (PFA) which is one of the type of fly ashes is trying to sought in solving problems related to the geotechnical aspects under the process of ground improvement. PFA has been used as one of the materials in stabilizing geotechnical properties namely unconfined compression strength (UCS) and modulus of elastic (E). Therefore, a set of laboratory experiments have been conducted and the data collected from this study were compared and analysed through various methods. © 2013, EJGE. | |
