| dc.description.abstract | Flows of a viscous and incompressible fluid along curved converging ducts are investigated numerically in this study. Interest is directed at the development of the flow for the domain of 0<0<180. The present study is confined to ducts of small HD/RO, with a gradual contraction in the cross section . Contraction of two-dimensional is considered here. most of the research carried out in the past has been on the circular cross-section duct. there are not many reported studies on constant rectangular cross section, thus it is only convenient to validate the computed results of the present study. When fluid flows in a curved duct, secondary flow will be created whereby two counter rotating vortices will be formed in a plane normal to the flow direction. This is due ti the effect of centrifugal force and radial pressure difference across the duct. | en |
