dc.description.abstract Atm is a technique for the future broad-band intergrated services digital network (B-ISDN) capable of supporting multimedia services such as video, voice and data. However, it still presents some challenging problems in avoiding network congestion. ATM requires a number of congestion control mechanism in order to ensure netwok stability while maximizing network utilization.
