dc.description.abstractThis paper presents Immune Log-Normal Evolutionary Programming (ILNEP) optimization technique to solve non-convex economic dispatch problem. ILNEP is developed by incorporating the immune system element and lognormal component in the original evolutionary programming (EP) algorithm. The proposed ILNEP technique is developed to improve the searching process for the global optima to solve the non-convex economic dispatch problem. Implementation on IEEE 14-Bus Reliability Test System revealed that ILNEP outperformed the original artificial immune system (AIS) and EP in achieving the lowest generation cost. © 2017 IEEE.
