Issue Date: | 2015 | Conference: | The 3rd National Graduate Conference (NatGrad2015), Universiti Tenaga Nasional, Putrajaya Campus, 8-9 April 2015 | Abstract: | In this paper, the 2.4 GHz Industrial, Scientific and Medical (ISM) Band patch antenna is simulated and analyzed using CST Microwave Studio 2014 software to comply with IEEE 802.11b Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) Standard. This paper gives comparison of rectangular patch antenna with full ground plane and rectangular patch antenna with modified ground plane in terms of return loss and bandwidth performance. The substrate used is FR4 having dielectric constant of 4.3 and dielectric tangent loss of 0.001. Based on an ordinary patch, the substrate thickness (mm) and Copper thickness (mm) used are 1.6 and 0.035 respectively. The antenna is fed by inset feed line. The design was optimized to obtain the most suitable configuration in terms of desired values of return loss, Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) and bandwidth, for antenna with and without modifying on ground plane. | URI: | http://cogs.uniten.edu.my/portal/NatGrad2015/Proceedings/ECE/PaperID_25.pdf http://dspace.uniten.edu.my/jspui/handle/123456789/10190 |
